Long story, short version...a couple years ago I foolishly decided to let my license expire! I know, what the heck was I thinking? Well, I was at a really weird point in my life, things were kinda up in the air for me and I had just had enough of nails. I just wasn't thinking clearly about the real consequences of doing that. I've always regretted it. It's not that I wanted to get back into nails, truth is I was burnt out, but I worked hard and spent good time and money to go through nail cosmetology school and I should have never let my license go. Over these past couple years I have thought about getting it back and I finally made the decision, just before the holidays that I was going to do it!! Luckily, because it hasn't been too long since it lapsed, I only need to do 20 hours of CE classes and then viola, it's mine again!!! Not looking too far in the future (that's my new way of life I suppose) as to what I'll do with it. Might try and open a business, might just put it in a safe place and feel happy that I have it again..just not sure yet..but I do love the feeling of having the possibilities open for me! Isn't it funny how you look back on certain periods in your life and think to yourself, "What the hell was I thinking??" "What the hell was I doing with myself?" some choices I made, I have to say, were really wacked, but, I've seen the light and all is good in my world these days!! I suppose that is how we learn, through mistakes, right?
So, there it is, one of my "secrets" for the new year. I have a few other fun things up my sleeves and in due time I'll share...hee hee...but, that is why the scrapping has been put to a halt for the past week...
I did manage to finish off one more layout this past weekend...and besides one other (for December 24th actually), this is the last completed layout..so I suppose I will have to get on the ball and create soon! I've got my new Wacom all set up and am having sooo much fun playing around with it..it looks all pretty and white and techno sitting next to my Mac...love it! I'm hoping to do some fun stuff with the next 3 layouts using it!
anyways, here is the layout. On this day, December 21st, mom came over for our annual cookie baking day! We do this each year on the Sunday before Christmas...it's always so much fun! We spend the whole day baking, listening to Christmas tunes, and we indulge in a little bubbly as a treat! I used an Ali E. template for this one. Couldn't resist buying them and I know I'll be putting them to good use throughout this next year as I digi my way through 2009!

Alright, that's about it for me tonight. I'm beat...gotta be up bright and early with the girl and then head out myself for class..think I need to pop a dvd in and chill (I mean, really...I do that all the time but it's my way of winding down!)..
Until next time,
Blessings!!

Love the layout....great idea with all the different squares. Well good for you that you're going to get your license again! I can't wait to see what other tricks you have up your sleeve. LOL.
Love the squares too..so much more you were able to show off!!
YAY about the lic...that's exciting. I know what you mean about putting all that work into just tolet it all fall to the wayside. It's important to keep it handy cause you just never know...one day.
Have a great weekend girl!
Will you do my nails?? I imagine that you are VERY good at it!!!
Good for you getting the license back....
