Something fun and some news to share!

I know, I have been saying off and on that I have some news to share but was waiting for awhile to do so, and I know how annoying that can be LOL!! But, today is the day, I can share one new thing with ya'll!!

Last winter you will remember I went back to nail school to have my license reinstated...had to do my 10 annual continuing education credits plus 10 extras for the 2 years I had let my license lapse...no biggie and it was fun! I had thought at that time that I was just going to get the license. I hadn't planned on going back to work, I just hated that I had let the license go, it was something I had worked hard for and I just wanted it back in my arsenal of accomplishments (not that there are tons to begin with LOL)...

I finished off school in a month, working at my own pace and it felt great. Not as great, however, as when I received my license in the mail from the state! Whew, it was once again mine!!

Recently, an opportunity fell into my lap! The head tech at a new, gorgeous salon has recruited me!! ME!! She told me that she wanted me to come work for them, that I could do as much or as little as I wanted, work the hours I pick etc..I mean, what could be cooler??!! I have to admit, I hemmed about it for a bit, didn't just jump right in, but after going to the salon to check it out, I knew it was a place I wanted to be! This salon is absolutely perfect! The owner has done everything in her power to make sure it's eco-friendly, and she built it "green"!! The products they use and sell are all natural and we even have a polish line that is vegan!! Yes, you heard me right, VEGAN!!

So, yep, I am headed back to the world of nails!! I am starting out very part-time, one day a week, but it will take me some time to rebuild my clientele and the salon is fairly new so she is still building business as well! I am very excited about this opportunity, it really felt like God played his hand in my life on this one....give thanks!

I have another cool opportunity I'm embarking on in the works but I need to iron out a few more things before I can share that one with ya'll! Sorry....you'll just have to wait! LOL

In the meantime, thought I'd share with you something kinda funny and cool. Right about my first year of doing nails, I was contacted by the personal assistant to Jenny Jones (you remember her, the female Jerry Springer talk show type hostess??!!)...He had heard about me through a mutual friend, and wanted to know if I would be interested in coming to the studio and doing Jenny's nails as well as some of her staff....um.....HELL YEAH!!!! So, I packed up my kit and hauled my butt downtown to the CBS studios in Chicago and set up my stuff! It was wickedly cool to work on her staff and to work on Jenny herself! She was a very down to earth, beautiful woman....already in her mid 50's at the time (I couldn't believe it!) and I loved sitting with her and chatting about everything from my Mandi to her show!

When I got ready to leave, Jenny told me that this had been the best nail appointment she had had in a long time (probably just being nice, but it felt great to hear as I was kinda nervous to do it!)!! and...by the way, she asked me to do a French Manicure on her!

There you have it, my one claim to fame....my one "celebrity" job that I can put into my resume of my nail life! Weeks later, when the studio sent me my check, Jenny sent along an autographed photo of her! LOL! I have kept this with my nail license stuff for years, maybe I will even scrapbook this one day. I took it out today as I was going through my paperwork and thought it would be fun to share this story and the photo with ya'll!

Alright guys, not sure I'll be back again this week, Mandi and I leave bright and early Thursday morning for Arizona for my sister's wedding! I've got a few last minute deets to finish up before, in fact, we are headed out now for eyebrow waxes!

I'll be sure to come back with tons of pics of the wedding and I will then be able to share the album I made for Shari! I've also changed out my tunage today...going with this FABULOUS song by one of my all time fav's Ozzy Osbourne! Yes, I love Ozzy!! LOL and this song is just one of the many of his I love! Enjoy!!

Until next time,

Blessings!

Congrats on the new nail job! Wow!! And the JJ story is awesome. I do believe that your writing here about it would make a great journaling block on a page!
