Little bit of mom nostalgia

I'm finding that as Mandi is getting older and with Roger traveling like he does that photo opportunities are getting less and less. I mean, really, there isn't play dates and birthday parties, learning to ride a bike or first haircut moments anymore...and while I try and take some pictures when I can, my scrapping material seems to be getting a bit smaller as time is going by. I decided that I needed to go back into my boxes and find some pictures that I could scan and print out or use to create some digi layouts. I figured that I had one box of older photos and thought that would be a good place to start. As I looked through the box I saw those kooky pictures I took while in high school, a ton of pics of Roger and I while we were first dating, some of Mandi when she was a baby that somehow hadn't made it into my wonderful cling sheet type photo albums (of which I am still trying to remove photos from in an effort to save them!), and then, there it was....this tiny strip of what looked like a filmstrip of pictures, no more than a thumbnails size. They were kinda beaten up, looking somewhat faded after time, and of course without any date to them but they were perfect...they were pictures that had been taken of my mom when she couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. These were the pics I was gonna play with! I scanned them into my computer and then tried my best (as I am somewhat challenged with the whole photo editing process) to restore what I could. They look sorta blurry-ish but for the most part I am happy, they are clear enough for me. I created this layout of my mom. I tried to use papers and elements that reflected a sort of retro-y/vintage-y feel....and think I did ok. Credits to this layout include: Rhonna Farrer, Traci Simms, Tracy Collins, and The Shabby Princess.
So, there she is, my mom. I won't tell you how old she is now (after all, that wouldn't be nice now would it?? LOL) but I will tell you that she still looks younger than her years. I'm hoping I got the good genes from her that she received from my grandparents, I look at her little girl face in these pictures and she hasn't changed all that much, my mom still has that face with maybe a few more years added but it's still her!
Until next time,
Blessings!
