Remembering...

Here it is another Sunday afternoon...where does the week go? It seems like it's just a blink of an eye and another one is done. Makes me kinda sad, I don't want time whizzing by before my eyes, and on the other hand, it means that it's just that much closer to Roger coming home again..

so, today was a quiet day here. Yesterday Mandi and I hit the city for a day of shopping. It was really fun! We both shopped until we about dropped, Mandi scored the big haul for the day, new clothes, shoes, jewelry, and cd's. I bought a couple new pairs of jeans and a couple cute tops. We had lunch at the Hard Rock, poor Mandi was soooo bummed, the t-shirt she wanted was all sold out (boo), but she did score another bracelet just like the one she got last time that went missing at school, so that was good. We then hiked over to Ghiardellhi for ice cream (well, Mandi had ice cream, I was good...hard as it was LOL) and we sat by the old water tower in the park and just chilled. To end the day we headed up to the greenhouse at the top of the Ritz Carlton and had a cocktail (well, ice tea for Mandi) and I treated myself to a glass of champaign! I think this was the best part of the day for me. Mandi and I just sat and talked, I mean really talked. I saw a side of her and learned things about her that I had not seen or heard before. My little girl isn't so little anymore, in fact she is quite the opposite and very much an independant soul...she does not conform to the masses and I love that about her so much! So, score one great day for me and Mandi!

today I've just been hanging out here. I played around for awhile with some more digi stuff, did this simple layout. This is my grandparents wedding picture from back in 1932. I love this picture and sure do miss them so much. I look at their young faces and I see them both, just the way I always did...age didn't change them all that much, it's amazing to me. Credits for this layout include: Atomic Cupcake, Shabby Princess, JKretschman, Rhonna Farrer and Nancy Kubo.

Enjoying this digi stuff too much I think! LOL I've got some paper that needs to be played with so that's what I'm going to do this week...never fear paper lovers, I'm not giving it up totally!

Tonight is a new episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels...LOVE that show, toooo funny! I used to really dislike Gene Simmons...I mean REALLY DISLIKE him but after watching this show, I have a new appreciation for him. He and his "beauty queen" Shannon have really done a great job of raising some really well grounded kids...Nick is an absolute riot and to be only 14, Sophie is really mature and steady. I still will never like his "whoring" around he has done...ick! and even if he was the last man on earth...double ick! LOL..but I sure do enjoy the show...so that's what is on my agenda for tonight!

Until next time,
Blessings!

Its so nice to connect with your kids! I love it!

Great digi. I really do need to give it a go! But you know how i like the old dimensional, lumpy bumpy scrapbooking...

I do believe the Gene Simmons that I've heard of has the 'gift of the gab'......????? =D

Beautiful layout of your grandparents! Don't you wish you could slip back thru time & have one last snuggle in their arms?

Sounds like you & Miss Mandi had an awesome day!
