That being said, in previous years I had been known to try my hand at various candy making adventures, but these past few years I kinda let that go to the side. This year I decided I was going to indulge and make some fudge and peanut brittle. My mom's friend Betty has been giving us fudge for years and it is honestly the best fudge I've ever had. I asked mom to ask Betty if she would mind sharing her recipe with me and she did! Yay! Okay, but I didn't have a recipe for Peanut Brittle. My good friend Cathy has told me that she makes peanut brittle for gifts at the holiday so I asked her for her recipe and she had no problem sharing it with me!
I ran right out to the store and bought all the necessary ingredients and came home to spend the day, December 13th in my kitchen making some candy for Christmas!
If I do say so myself, these recipes totally rock and we have all been enjoying some serious candy eating in the Rawlins household!!

Lets see, what else..oh yeah, it's snowing..again! I am trying my very best to just go with the flow but this is getting a bit ridiculous and I told Mandi today, we might now wait until she is out of high school or the housing market comes back..this might just be my last winter in Chicago..at least that is what I keep telling myself right now! LOL
Alright, that is all for today...working on more layouts and shaking my head as I realize that we are so close to Christmas...this time tomorrow I'll be enjoying a buffet of holiday food, watching my favorite movie with my girl and waiting for Santa to arrive..
Until next time,
Blessings!
